EnBW is currently building Germany’s largest offshore wind farm He Dreiht which will supply Fraport AG with green energy from summer 2026. The long-term corporate power purchase agreement guarantees Fraport 85 megawatts from the 900 MW EnBW wind farm in the North Sea. Renewables such as wind and solar are the focus of Fraport AG's climate strategy which includes the goal of being carbon-free by 2045.A significant milestone in the construction of the wind park has been reached as of this week: EnBW has installed all 64 foundations in the North Sea as scheduled. With the help of “Thialf” by Heerema Marine Contractors, one of the world’s largest floating cranes, all monopile foundations have been installed into the seabed. He Dreiht is being built roughly 85 kilometers northwest of Borkum and about 110 kilometers west of Helgoland. At peak times, more than 500 people work on this large construction site in the middle of the sea. The latest generation of Vestas wind turbines will be installed starting in spring 2025 with a capacity of 15 megawatts each. Starting on September 1, 2024, restrictions on the amounts of liquids that may be transported in carry-on luggage will be reapplied at all passenger security checkpoints at Frankfurt Airport. Only liquids inside containers no larger than 100 milliliters may be taken, and these must be placed inside a re-closable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of up to one liter.The reason for this new requirement, which amounts to a return to the previous restrictions, is a change in European law that also affects already-installed new CT scanners at FRA.The checkpoints equipped with CT technology will continue to benefit passengers because electronic devices and allowed amounts of liquids, aerosols, and gels do not have to be removed from the carry-on luggage.By properly preparing for their vacations, passengers can help ensure that their trips get off to a quick and comfortable start. They should therefore check to make sure that the quantities and weights of their luggage comply with the rules set by their airline. This includes only taking essential items on board, as far as possible inside no more than one carry-on bag per person.
