Atletico Nacional have extended Alfredo Morelos' loan for the remainder of the 2025 season - but the Rangers hero could find himself reunited with a former Celtic flop before then.
The striker returned to his homeland in Colombia last summer after a disappointing stint in Brazil.
Morelos was briefly reunited at Santos with his old Gers boss Pedro Caixinha at the turn of the year after his loan with Nacional expired, only to then sign another temporary deal with the Colombian top-flight club shortly after superstar Neymar had secured a return to his boyhood club in Brazil.
And Colombian outlet Noticias confirm that the 28-year-old will remain with the club for the rest of the calendar year as they look to defend their Categoria Primera A title.
Morelos played a huge role in that triumph, scoring 11 times in 28 appearances as Nacional also lifted the Copa Colombia.

But according to reports in Mexico, one-time Parkhead defender Efrain Juarez wants to work with Morelos again after leaving Nacional for Pumas last month.
Caracol state that Juarez has directed his transfer chiefs to open up negotiations with Santos over a deal that would see Morelos cancel the remainder of his loan in Colombia and head north to Mexico this summer.
Juarez was brought to Celtic from Pumas by Neil Lennon for £2million in the summer of 2010 after impressing for Mexico in the World Cup in South Africa.
However, his stint in Glasgow proved to be a disappointing one, with the full back making just 21 appearances in his loan season before being loaned out to Spanish side Real Zaragoza.
Juarez left the Hoops on a permanent basis in the following year to return to Mexico with Club America, where he spent two years before going onto finish his playing career with Monterrey, Vancouver Whitecaps and Valerenga in Norway in 2019.

After hanging up his boots, Juarez formed a working relationship with former Celtic manager Ronny Deila and worked as his number two at three successive clubs in New York City, Standard Liege and Club Brugge before launching a managerial career in his own right with Nacional last year.
