Scott Phillips

We are thrilled and blessed to welcome Pastor Scott Phillips to the pulpit at Northminster.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. His first call was at First Presbyterian Church in Berthoud, CO in 2006, a small church in a front range farming community. In 2011, he became Pastor at Westview Presbyterian in Longmont, CO where he served until 2017.

Scott, his wife Julie, and son Josh, are looking forward to beginning their new lives in Kansas City. Julie has served several non-profit organizations focused on mental health and Josh is a baseball-loving, joke telling dynamo, who has just started the fourth grade. Scott and Julie have lived in the Kansas City Northland before and are glad to be back.

“We are excited about the possibilities and atmosphere of Northminster; community connections, fostering a sense of family, and (most importantly) passionately sharing God’s love and hope. It is in a place we love and mirrors our loves, callings and priorities. We are extremely excited to see what God has in store for all of us together!”

Office Administrator

Teri VanGilder

As office administrator, Teri keeps us organized. She handles the daily tasks and keeps us moving forward as we work to serve God within our congregation and in the community.

It’s fair to say that Teri’s roots are deeply planted in our church community. She began attending Northminster at age eight, growing up in the church, and raising her own family here, as well. She began working in the office in 2005, and has been a blessing to us each day. You can count on Teri help find the information you’re looking for.

Sue Fine

Sue Fine has been playing the pipe organ in churches since she was 13 years old. “Once you get the pedals down, you have it made.” Sue has accompanied choirs, quartets, solos and churches all across the USA, including Nigeria at Hillcrest International School.

“Listening to all types keeps me interested in the wonderful variety we have to choose from, however, church hymns are my favorite.  To listen to a full congregation sing always gives me goosebumps.

Books and libraries became magical to me.” Mary’s two favorite Christian books are In His Steps by Charles Sheldon and Not My Will by Francena Arnold.
