Reverand Mark Braden
Rev. Braden joined Northminster as interim pastor in March 2016. Mark describes himself as a second career pastor. After a 21-year career in business ownership, executive sales and management, Mark received his call to ministry while serving as a Stephen Minister at Village Presbyterian Church. He specializes in transitional “interim” ministry and has a heart for pastoral care, preaching and working with small groups. Mark currently works on the Administrative Commission to the Presbyterian Church of Stanley.
His theological mottos is, “Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, act justly and leave the rest to God.”
Mark and his wife, Beth live in Fairway, Kansas. He has two daughters, Sarah and Paige.

As office administrator, Teri keeps us organized. She handles the daily tasks and keeps us moving forward as we work to serve God within our congregation and in the community.
It’s fair to say that Teri’s roots are deeply planted in our church community. She began attending Northminster at age eight, growing up in the church, and raising her own family here, as well. She began working in the office in 2005, and has been a blessing to us each day. You can count on Teri help find the information you’re looking for.

Dr. Cynthia Sheppard
Cindy joined Northminster after completing 14 years as director of choirs and chair of the department of performing arts at Olathe South High School. She previously taught at the collegiate level at MidAmerica Nazarene University, Howard Payne University, Wayland Baptist University, the University of Missouri – Columbia, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In June of 2015 Cindy began her tenure as the artistic director and conductor of the Kansas City Women’s Chorus.
Cindy has directed church choirs and bell choirs at churches in Arlington, Plainview, and Brownwood, TX. She has served as a chorister at Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City, MO.
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from William Jewell College, a Master of Music in Conducting from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri Columbia.
Baker is an active pianist, vocalist, music director, and organist in the Kansas City Metro Area. He received his BFA in Theater & Voice Performance at The University of Kansas where he worked as an accompanist and coach in both the opera and musical theater departments. At KU, he was awarded the Tom P. and Shirley Rea Memorial Award in Musical Theater, identifying him as the most promising performer of his graduating class.
He is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Secondary Education at The University of Central Missouri while teaching and accompanying at Liberty High School in Liberty, MO.
Our Nursery Attendants are a big part of the Northminster Family. Our nursery is available from 9:15 AM through the end of Worship and cares for children from infant through kindergarten. Both of our attendants are CPR certified, well-versed in childcare and just fun to be around.
